One Flaw In Women (author unknown)
Women have strengths that amaze men. They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy. They smile when they want to scream. They sing when they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they believe in. They stand up to injustice. They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution. They go without so their family can have. They go to the doctor with a frightened friend. They love unconditionally. They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards. They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break when a friend dies. They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart. Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors. They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you. The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning. They bring joy, hope and love. They have the compassion and ideas. They give moral support to their family and friends. Women have vital things to say and everything to give. HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN, IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

Our Deepest Fear
Our Deepest Fear
by Marianne Williamson from A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Odd
I don't understand how it is that a person who tries so hard to please, conform, accomodate, and just generally stay out of trouble continually finds herself deep in it.

The truth shall set you free
Ever heard that saying? The truth shall set you free... I wonder what the person who said that was thinking about, what that statement meant to them. Because I have found that the truth does in fact set you free, free from family and friends that is. I am pretty sure that is not what whoever said that had in mind. People dont always want to know the truth. They will do anything to hide from it. They will betray those they love, hide themselves away in denial, become cowards living a false life. They refuse to accept the truth, perhaps because they then would be responsible. Responsible to stand up and do something. Responsible to make a choice and live with the consequences. Responsible to make a change.
When you have the truth, know the truth, and speak the truth there is no need for self-defense. There is no need to defend or prove yourself because it doesn't matter who accepts it and who doesn't, it is still The Truth.

Sorry little brother.
What is it with blogs? Everyone has one these days. People blog everything, big events, little events, health, hapiness, sadness... it's all there, for everyone to read. What used to be scribbled in journals and kept under the bed, or scrawled in a fancy diary with a lock and key, is all out there in the open now. What happened to privacy? What happened to keeping things close to your heart, well, close to your heart? Why do people feel the need to do their journaling on the computer and then send out links so everyone they know can read? Little brothers everywhere are being deprived the joy of sneaking into their sister's room and reading her diary, now all they have to do is log on and check out her blog!
I think it may be that people like to be heard and to be understood. Validation, acceptance, compassion, support, honesty, embracing your reality and living true to you... Laying it out on the line, this is ME, take it or leave it. Learning to love yourself, and learning that those who love you will continue to do so despite your flaws, and those who don't never did.
Unconditional Love and Acceptance, isn't that what we are all looking for?
I know I am.
